I said to Uncle Ed I heard this song on Sirius in the car this week by Blood, Sweat & Tears. He said, who? Earth Wind & Fire. NO I SAID, Blood, Sweat & Tears. Uncle Ed starts playing Spinning Wheel. I Said, I think that is Earth Wind & Fire. Uncle Ed said no, that it’s Blood, Sweat & Tears, but either way, I still want to hear the song “And When I Die” again. So the back-and-forth continues, back-and-forth continues, back-and-forth continues and quite frankly, I then was moving earth, blowing wind from my J-Lo and BREATHING fire through blood, sweat and tears…just to hear the song
TITLED “And When I Die”. The words say “I swear there ain’t no heaven and I pray there ain’t no hell.” Interestingly, this was one of many songs played on NJ Boardwalks. Yes, yes along with Spinning Wheel and many other songs blasting.
So with a Namaste Ways yoga inhale… I ponder and when I die. The song and the reality. This is a tough subject for most of us. Preparation, Earth, Wind, Fire, Blood, Sweat, Tears. Have a plan? A belief system? A family legacy? Wills,
preparation, meditation, decisions, plan… “cause unfortunately, not everything wraps into goodness, warmth and soft comfort, just like a Philly Pretzel squirted with mustard.”
Yoga practice teaches the yogini to work-in. Work-in is when we deal with some messy “doo doo” (I am from NJ so you know that word is $#|£) and not from our humanly J-Lo’s. Really, yoga calms our spirit, mind and body allowing for the work-in. So I ask the tough ???... do you have a Will, a plan? Have you updated your Medical POA, your fiduciary POA? My sister and Uncle Ed have journals titled “I’m DEAD, now WHAT?” The challenge comes with the BLANK pages inside....left for any one that is not in that category.
Yoga inhalation, Blood, Sweat &Tears. Humanly bodies (whether we can face it or not) become ashes to ashes and dust to dust.
